. 40 Answers SOURCE: When you lift up the top of the stapler (as though you are going to put staples in), does the pusher slide freely back and forth? It might be getting stuck at some point and not pushing the staples (either due to a worn pusher spring, or friction). First (after removing the staples) try spraying some light oil on the mechanism and lifting the top part of the stapler up and down a few times and observe how easily it moves back and forth.
Also, with the top open try GENTLY sliding back and forth a little - if it slides fine with no sticking, try loading staples and using stapler. If it slides ok, but doesn't quickly return to it's 'normal position' when pulled so as to put tension on the spring, rhen the spring may be worn and need replacing. I have had good luck removing the staple ram rod and rapping firmly on the. of the stapler against a wooden table. The idea is jolting the stuck staples into reverse out the way they went in. Tedious process but usually works. Removing the jammed staples in the nose at the striker plate requires using needle nose pliers and a sharp awl or small screw driver used on very small screws.

Some have broad crowns and short legs for fabric, and some have steel crowns and long legs that penetrate deep into framing studs. UpholsteryStaples for pneumatic guns that are used for upholstery use lightweight, narrow crown staples.
They typically have a 3/8-wide crown with 1/4-inch legs. If the staple is to be used in Naugahyde or soft leather, a wider crown can be used to keep the Naugahyde from pinching or dimpling. Most common upholstery air staplers can use both narrow and wide crown staples with legs ranging from 1/8 inch to 1/2.

I don't normally get excited over mundane inanimate objects, but, I like excellent mechanical designs. This is a superb example. There are two on the market that run in this price range. This one had more reviews, so it won out.
The guide is great, I set it and hit the center every time on my manuals, I found myself wanting a guide for how far I was from the edge, there is one there, you just have to look for it. Use the front foot, align your edge with the front foot, shift it to the other side align on the edge of the brown foot and you have approximately 1/2 inch on each end. (I did not measure it, but I doubt seriously if there is anyone who will get one of my manuals that will measure the distance). I never knew I needed a long-arm stapler, until I owned one.
This has a solid construction, and has held up well to over a year of use. It staples well and straight and I haven’t had issues with staples getting stuck, etc. I can use it as a normal stapler but I’ve also been able to appreciate the long arm as well - mostly for repairing workbooks and children’s paperback books.
I would definitely purchase this product again if I needed to, but I don’t foresee anything going wrong with my current product any time soon so I should be set for a while. HIGHLY recommend splurging on getting a long-arm stapler. And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire. This is my stapler.
There are many like it, but this one is mine. My stapler is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my stapler is useless.
Without my stapler, I am useless. I must staple my stapler true. I must staple straighter than my enemy who is trying to staple me. I must staple him before he staples me. I will My stapler and I know that what counts in the office is not the staples we staple, the pound of our burst, nor the grunt we make. We know that it is the staples that count.

Each year we get her a few Cowboys items, and this stapler was a hit Christmas morning. This stapler is of all metal construction and seems heavy duty; a few years ago we purchased a similar model 747 in pink so she already has the SF4 staples that both staplers use.
She loves that it can open 180 degrees to be laid flat, allowing her to staple things to her bulletin board too. Nice stapler. Great Cowboys gift for a Dallas fan in need of a stapler. Recommended Go for it.
Would give it 10 stars if I could! Purchased this pneumatic gun almost 2 years ago for a small project I never got around to it. Daughter's school bike parade came up recently and she wanted a pirate theme. Bought the cardboard sheets and figured I could tape and hot glue the cardboard to the wooden frame (1X2's), no good.
Because of the curves/shape of the pirate ship, it was not holding to well due to the strain at the opposite end. Remembered I had purchased this gun and some staples (9X16 and 3/8's). Found it in it's case never used, oiled the air inlet chamber, hooked her up to my smaller pancake style compressor and magic! Sorry to drag this story on but boy this made the job faster, funner and inexpensive. Never jammed. Lightweight, small but powerful and no issues. Great value, great product!
I bought this with much skepticism. Every time I've needed to staple roofing felt or plastic, I've had to buy a new hammer tacker, a.k.a., slap stapler. This Surebonder had good reviews and cost about the same, so I gambled. I've used it to put 30 lb roofing felt on a 6:12 pitch roof, 36 ft span with 2 ft overhang each side. That's about 1890 sq.
And many thousands of staples. It has also been used multiple times to staple 6 mil plastic as temporary cover for projects in progress. It has not failed or even jammed.
Based on past experience, I would be ready for my 3rd hammer tacker by now. I've oiled it each time before use but not more than twice in a full day.
So far so good. Using this stapler for 2x2 coin holders. Undertaking the painstaking task of redoing the 500+ coins in my collection that are in 2x2s, because they are not flat clinched. Relatively expensive since I could not imagine paying this much for a stapler, but having recently learned of flat clinch staplers I will never go back to normal. Flat crunch makes all the difference especially when preventing detrimental damage to coins due to normal staplers. Have done atleast 250 cardboard coin holders with 3 staples each and not one jam. Rubber grip makes this experience as comfortable as possible.
I'll add another 'WOW' to the reviews. I've bought several of these now for the office since mine keeps getting borrowed. The flat staple is a nice touch for keeping file cabinet less stuffed. The corners of my documents no longer take up that much more space and stacks sit flatter. Also, the action is easier and this stapler punches through much much thicker stacks than my last unit or than any other stapler in the building (except the huge binding stapler by the printer, but hey). I have not noticed that these staples are any harder to remove, but there is a tiny downside in that the points of the staples are slight more exposed since they don't turn inwards.
So, if you really try, you can get stuff caught on them, where a normal staple would not catch things. Small price to pay since I. I purchased my first Max Flat Clinch Stapler in 2013 and loved it. It worked exceptionally well, stapled perfectly and was very reliable.
One of my employees has hand pain and has to staple far more than I do so I gave it to her a bought my second one in early 2015. That one wasn't quite up to snuff, it always felt a little off, but after a couple of months it was jamming all of the time. And honestly that's quite alright, there's always a failure rate in products. But whats not OK is Max won't honor a warranty, or at least they won't communicate with me at all. I submitted an online form through their website in early April '14. Emailed again on 4/16/15 and 4/29/15, and submitted an additional form on 4/29/15 with not a single response.
So, it could be great or bad, but for a stapler. We have been using a Swingline long-reach stapler for the past 3 years. It was more than 3 times the price of the Business Source stapler, and the Swingline just suddenly stopped working. We received the Business Source stapler today. The adjustable stop makes it so much easier to staple workbooks in the right spot every time!
This is much lighter weight also and seems as if it would be just as durable. We staple approximately 100 workbooks per month - 1 100-lb cover sheet plus 5 11x17 28-lb sheets in each.
Stapler arrived on time and is just like the description. It's quite sturdy metal so I have no concerns with how well it will hold up over the years. It takes regular staples so I was able to use it quickly right out of the box. I've been using it to make traveler's notebook inserts so appreciate the white marker that I can place at the appropriate depth and then have super accurate placement of the staples. It staples through 16 sheets of paper very easily!
Being able to make my own inserts has already saved me more than the cost of the stapler. We were frustrated with not being able to find a Standard Stapler that would actually staple a few sheets of paper together dependably. Our experience has been that Many Staplers were undependable and would Jam at the most unexpected and worst possible moment! We tried many but then, after reading Many reviews, decided to try this Stanley Bostich Model! We have had it & been using it almost every day for about 6 months now and both me & my wife who are Very Particular about Staplers are saying that this one is Vastly Better than any we have ever used both at home & at work! We also purchased the Stanley Bostich Standard Stapled to go with it and together this Stapler has Jammed only 1 Time in over 6 months & was easily un-jammed and back to work in a flash!
It is a wonderful Stapler and is. I make books and zines and other little bookletized things all the time. It's kind of an obsession that never really goes away.
I had a longarm stapler that served me well, but the little plastic guide dealie was forever getting out of alignment, and I'd have to stop what I was doing, take all the misplaced staples out, and reconfigure the slidey guide. (Which, by the way, was pretty imprecise and hard to get calibrated.) I decided to try this one instead, and from the get-go, I knew this is what I'd been missing. Fold your document, put it on the mountain peak bit, press down, and voila! Perfectly-placed saddle-stitch staples with no guesswork or guide-tampering. I swear, for a moment, the angelic chorus sang Hallelujah over my booklets.
I sang along. One tip: Ignore suggestions to buy premium standard staples.
Buy.heavy duty. It blows me away how perfectly this stapler is designed and built.
My first project was 5 sheets of 28 lb. Letter-sized paper folded in half to make a 20-page booklet; adjust your expectations accordingly. I ordered the recommended staples but ended up using a cheap no-name product we had on hand because they were just a tad shorter and looked better. I had no mis-fires; my technique is to line up and give it a whack rather than a polite push. The gadget is well made. The metal is plenty strong - no sense of flimsy - and the stapler itself opens 180 degrees (and stays open) to fill.
There are appropriate anti-slip pads where they need to be. Centering the staple exactly at the fold turned out to be fairly easy. The folded booklet nestles nicely on the ridge and comes close to no-brainer perfect alignment but if you want. Staplers seem like a simple thing; they either work or don't.I can't stand staplers jamming on me or failing to staple, so when I went to buy one, I knew what my candidates were: Swingline (down in quality since their glory days), Ace (I inherited a bunch of sixty year old Ace Pilots, but they're getting frail, and good luck finding a new one for sale), or El Casco (bit pricey. Just a bit.) You can imagine my surprise when I saw this pop up in a google search.
An american stapler? And the pictures don't do its die-cast, powder-coated shape justice. It's a paragon of good engineering, removing some complexity and problem spots that show up in a Swingline, and yet managing a more solid feel, better ergonomics, and an easier stapling action. It's far handsomer viewed down low than the vendor's pictures suggest, and also holds. I bought this after buying a Swingline for work that was the biggest piece of crap to ever grace our office!
The S'line was originally THROWN IN THE WASTE BIN - right on top of it's packaging. It was a brand new stapler that was so poorly constructed/aligned/assembled (whatever) that it was hit or miss on whether it would staple TWO sheets of paper together or not! I retrieved the stapler and the packaging after tempers died down and returned it. Went on Amazon and bought this fine specimen of a stapler and must say that I'm so happy that I did.
It works great, looks great, has a built in staple remover and, the icing on the cake - MADE IN AMERICA (unlike the Swingline). Thank you PraxxisPro and keep up the good work!

Must admit I'm a sucker for red. That being said, my last Swingline stapler that lasted easily more than 10 years, was becoming more difficult to compress and not always stapling evenly. When I saw this one, I was hooked. I just received it, so time will tell; but I have to say it compresses easily, even while holding it upside down in my non-dominant palm, and it staples evenly. I don't use this feature, but for anyone interested, if you push down on the underside lever, the stapler will open up so that you can staple against a flat surface. Vivid red, as shown. I purchased one of these about three months ago and liked it so much, I ordered another one.
It works exactly as advertised. Here's a tip when refilling. My two staplers are identical, but do not necessarily act the same when the 'Push' button on the back is pressed to release the loading 'drawer' to put in another strip of staples, and that can seem at first like something is wrong.
When the Push button is pushed on one of my staplers, the drawer pops out 2 or 3 inches and can then be pulled out easily the rest of the way. On the other stapler when the button is pushed, the drawer only pops out about a half an inch and seems to hit something internally not allowing it to go further, and the half inch is too small to load a strip of staples. This electric stapler was ready to go right out of the box. I experimented with a few sheets at first. I only needed to adjust the slide to place the staple where I wanted it. That was very easy to do. The stapler came just in time.
I had a big project to print and staple. I am so glad that I didn't have to use a manual stapler. This stapler handled 28 sheets with no problem even better than my manual heavy duty stapler. It is smooth and fast. I like the size and weight of it too. You can easily move it, its not heavy and clunky.
I am happily surprised by the quality of the stapler. Even the packaging is very nicely done.
It is definitely a handy thing to have in the office. Makes me wish I had gotten one sooner. About 10 years ago a friend gave me a a spring-powered super-wow stapler that could staple pretty much anything — except when it jammed, bent staples, or just plain refused to work. All a moot point, actually, because it used some strange non-standard staples that I couldn't find anywhere after the initial load was used up.
That 'wonderful' stapler is now long gone. When I found out that the same people who perfectly solved my pencil-sharpener dilemma some time ago are now offering a powerful stapler I hoped that lightning would strike twice. Here's the deal: It just works. OK — at first it seemed a little louder than I expected but after several uses I concluded it actually no louder than any other stapler, it's just a different sound: Zzzzzip!
Rather than the usual Clack! I'll take the trade, because the trade gives me a perfectly placed, unbent staple. Definitely worth the money! These are heirloom quality.
A little more up front, but cheaper cause you never have to buy them again. This product calls for 26/8 staples, 5/16' works fine and are equivalent, BUT! Don’t let anyone try to tell you the 5/16', 26/8 and the 26/8+ staple are the same thing. They are not. 5/16 & 26/8 will not quite crimp over on 50 pages.
Also, 26/8+ are very difficult to find, most Amazon sellers advertising 26/8+ do not really have 26/8+, but send you 5/16 staples. The 26/8+ staple measures 8.5mm which is 0.33464567'. Clearly 1/3rd inch is longer than 5/16 inch. Might not sound like a big deal, until you get a project that requires lots of stapling of 45-50 pages and each time you staple you have to turn it over and hammer the staple over. Plus it does not hold as well.
This is a great product and just what I needed to staple the tops of those heavy paper yard-waste bags (I had been taping them with duct tape, which didn't work well at all). This stapler is truly heavy-duty - no cheap plastic or sheet metal here!
It's made of heavy, stamped solid metal and it's weight alone tells you that it's a quality product. Be sure to buy staples along with it (I recommend Rapid 90003 5/16' stapes for K1 plier staplers) - it doesn't come with staples. This stapler can also be used for stapling paper, stacks of paper (up to 50 sheets), cardboard, and other assorted jobs which require a heavy-duty, plier-style stapler.
I have this stapler. People in my office who used it love it. It is small and easy to use. The reduced force is a welcome touch. Because of the reduced force mechanism, you'll feel a first click, when you push it. It is just top part of the mechanism closing onto the staple.
But your staple isn't pushed through at this point. You need to follow it through until the entire staple closes with a second click, and then you'll get a perfect staple every time. I have a feeling people who get jammed staples is because they didn't staple all the way through, like mentioned above. Another thing is, this stapler uses normal staples. It does NOT use fancy 'high capacity' or 'heavy duty' staples. I know this little thing can staple 40 sheets (amazing isn't it?).
Pretty smooth so far. Stapled 24 sheets, tested 3 times and did not jam. I can't test anything over 25-sheets with the staples I bought because the staples have a stated capacity of 25 sheets.
I wish they have a recommended staples for this stapler. I can't give a 5-star unless I tested on 35-40 sheets. I need staples with 40-sheets capacity in order to fully utilize this stapler. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. UPDATE: This actually works on 47 sheets even with the Optima staples, which claims 25 sheets capacity (Swingline Staples, Optima Premium, 0.25 Inch Leg Length, 210 per Strip, 3,750 Staples per Box (S7035556)). I tested it and it's amazing, zero jam on anything within 47 sheets capacity.
Changing this to a 5-star review. I bought this stapler for work as I work in accounting and handle a ton of paperwork. It is lightweight and can be stapled while sitting down or by lifting and stapling.
I have been using it for several months (1000s of staples) and have not had one name yet. I liked it so much I purchased another for home. One reviewer mentioned they saw this one in store and it was too bulky to staple. I believe he may have been referring to the full size version as this was a mini. I have stapled hundreds on invoices at one time and not felt any discomfort in my hand or wrist.
I would DEFF recommend for anyone. I have had this stapler for about a year, and it performs as a stapler should: it fastens 2 or more sheets of paper together and can be used for tacking. Pros: it easily lives up to its 28-sheet capacity, and fires the staple into the stack like a bullet with just a light press of the handle. I have even stapled as many as 37 sheets, and the staple went through effortlessly, but I had to manually bend/flatten the prongs on the back of the document with a letter opener; not a bad thing, considering I was 9 sheets over the stated capacity! It could maybe fasten 40 sheets of standard copier paper, but the limiting factor is the length of the staples, not the power of the stapler. The PaperPro seems well made of plastic and metal; it takes standard staples and loads easily; and it.
I got this stapler after hearing my brother rave about his - we were on a business trip in a new country and we were talking about his stapler, how could I not get one? - and trying it myself when we got home. He has a plastic version, very light. I loved how easy on the hand it was to staple a decent amount of pages. So here I am, a graphic designer who rarely staples anything, reviewing my stapler, which happens to be, in theory, better than my brother's.
I did staple 20 sheets together (not 25 yet) and it worked like a charm: didn't have to use both hands, didn't have to put all my weight on it. Actually, I did it with one finger, like I'm supposed to be able to and not once did it not work (I've had my fair share of practice already.). This stapler is very sturdy so far and I tested it on a wide variety of stack sizes.
I totally missed that I could not buy just one size of staple and bought the 85-130 size. Let me tell you, this stapler puts that staple all the way through and loops it back up and down again in a spiral/circle if you don't have enough paper.
It's a stapling machine. I solved the problem as I should have in the beginning by buying each size of staple required to staple the different amounts of paper that I needed. Since I had a Swingline Optima that did up to 25 sheets, I bought the Bostich heavy duty staples in 25-55, 55-85, and 85-130.
Staples One Touch Stapler Troubleshooting
If you don't have a stapler that does up to 25, you'll need that size of staples also. Bostitch Heavy Duty Premium Staples, 25-55 Sheets, 0.375 Inch Leg, 5,000 Per. Worked well from day 1; hasn't clogged yet (crossing fingers on this!). No YouTube videos to explain how to use this; however, print instructions are clearly written and fairly easy to follow. Build quality & design seems less conducive to jamming than our office's previous heavy-duty stapler (a Swingline). We bought Bostitch heavy-duty staples to use with this; other brands may work, but we didn't want to take a chance on compatibility.
This device has been a lifesaver for binding thick legal documents! This has to be the smoothest stapler I have ever used It has a nice weight with nice hand ergonomics, nicely balanced in hand Nice chrome finish with slip proof grip on top and bottom Has not jammed to date as many other brands do from day one Never knew a stapler that actually works every time even existed until this one. Note: I'm using Bostitch Premium Standard Staples with this, slighter higher in cost than generic or other brand staples but maybe that's why it works better than any other stapler I've ever owned. I figured to pair the stapler with the same name brand staples. I have had this stapler for 5 years now, and I can say this is a great stapler.
I am in the military, and the fact it lasted this long onboard two different ships serves as proof that with continual daily abuse from Sailors, it is extremely well built. Even now, although the metal frame is cracked just under the rubber head, it still functions. It has never jammed on me in its life.
This is one terrific stapler and I will be buying another one (of course, it should last longer since this is my last ship). The only downside is that people tend to love this stapler, and it typically winds up all over the place (people migrate to my desk to use mine vice 15 other staplers that they walk by). This is very much worth the price, and then some. If you are still on the fence, jump off and buy. My favorite stapler for many years has been the X-Acto Standup Stapler because it 1) stands up and stays put on my desk, 2) fits well in my hand, 3) is ergonomically the best stapler I have found so far, and 4) weighs less than half of the Bostitch Metal Executive Stand-Up Stapler. But my X-Acto stapler started jamming after years of use, so based on the multiple 5 star reviews, I ordered this Bostitch stapler from Warehouse Deals.
When I received it, I initially tried to use it with Swingline staples. It didn't work.
The instructions state to use Bostitch Standard staples so, thinking this was a case of 'operator error', I ordered a box of those from Amazon. Stapler STILL DOESN'T WORK, but now too much time has passed to return it. And just where is the 'staple supply indicator' that is. This thing rocks. Has a heavy duty feel to it, and has yet to seriously jam on me. When I first got it loaded up I tried to shoot a couple staples without any paper or cardboard in the thing, just to test it out.
It did jam once then, because there was nothing to draw the closed staple downward. I'd recommend avoiding doing that. As for my intended purpose for this, I ship a lot of packages and recycle/repurpose a lot of cardboard boxes. This stapler is going to save me a lot of money because I can now make my own boxes by cutting them from larger pieces of cardboard and stapling them in place nicely before applying tape.
This thing punched right through four single layers of corrugated cardboard like nothing. The staples are not what I would consider. I have fought, struggled and cried for four years now with my Arrow stapler. The known-across-the-galaxy chrome Arrow stapler that's supposed to be the best product ever invented.
That thing has been a piece of crap since day one. I staple cardboard mailing tubes (and their caps). It jams and misfeeds almsot nonstop. I have never been angrier with an inanimate object than that thing. Imagine my surprise when I came across this contender.
Advertised no-jam technology? My word is this thing so much nicer. 25% of the effort to staple the same thickness, a million times quieter. Easier to load, can easily see how many staples are left. What used to physically wear my hand out (doing ten tubes at once), incredibly loud racket, took over five minutes. Now is less strenuous than watching TV and takes less than 60 seconds. Kudos to Bostitch and the engineer that invested this.
This is the best stapler I've ever used. Pros: -high caacity: I've put 60 over pages through this stapler with no problem.small size: This stapler is much smaller than other high capacity staplers available.function: This stapler is effortless. Most staplers make a click that you can hear and feel as the staple goes in, but this one just glides through the paper, without even a tactile change in pressure.Great value: At under $20, you will not find a better stapler. Cons: -This does not use regular staples, but thats not really a problem-just something buyers must be aware of. Buy this stapler. Lightweight, for how solid and well-made it is. Works as expected almost effortlessly.
I was worried that a high capacity stapler would require the use of more force to get the staples through a hefty stack. In fact, it is easier and less annoying to use than my regular stapler.

I will still keep my regular stapler for staple jobs of a few pages, since obviously that type of stapling job would require regular sized staples. If you use a high capacity stapler on only a couple of pages, then the staple would be very loose fitting. And then you may give it less than a 5 star rating. And then people will think you're an idiot.
This is a really easy stapler to use and it truly does staple a huge stack of papers very easily. I have one of those whoppin' heavy duty staplers in my office that I typically use once or twice a day. I haven't used it once since I got this stapler. One benefit this stapler has over the above mentioned whopper is that this stapler's staples are the same thickness as a standard staple so they can be removed with a standard staple remover.
With the typical heavy duty staples I have to use the needle nose pliers. It's a bit of a negative to have to buy the specialty staples, but it's just a matter of fact that it takes a longer staple to contain a larger stack of papers. It's really convenient to use the same stapler for 2 sheets or 60 sheets.
My one complaint about the.
